FAQ

Security

Are your products tested on all skin types?

The safety of our clients is an absolute priority.
In accordance with European legislation, an expert toxicologist evaluates each of our products before they go to market. The evaluation of the safety of our products is based on three analyses: the evaluation of the safety of the raw materials, the evaluation of the safety of the finished products, and cosmetovigilance, which means monitoring the tolerance of products on sale and collecting any elements likely to improve them. Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to carry out specific tests on certain skin types, such as those with different melanin levels (skin color) or specific problems (acne, rosacea). If you have any questions about our products, please contact our customer service team.

What should I do if my skin reacts to an edulis skincare product?

If your skin reacts to a product, stop using it immediately and write to us at contact@edulis-cosmetics.com. If you have pictures to send us, that's even better. Our team of scientists will carefully study your case to determine the cause of your reaction and support you through the process. We also advise you to speak to your doctor; our technical team will be available to provide all the information needed to help treat the problem.

Are your products dangerous if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

As they are not specifically designed for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women, our products have not been tested on them. Using our products during pregnancy and breastfeeding depends on formulation, so we advise you to contact us with any queries.
If a product could be harmful during pregnancy or breastfeeding, this information will be mentioned on the product page under Precautions for Use. In general, these will contain essential oils, certain hydrolats or molecules that are not recommended during pregnancy.
Pregnancy is a very particular physiological state, it's a good idea to speak to a doctor regarding the use or application of cosmetic products before you try them.

Do edulis products make the skin more sensitive to the sun?

You should always use a sunscreen before sun exposure. If your skin is very sensitive, we recommend that you consult a dermatologist before application..

As each product has specific precautions for use, we advise you to read the product information sheets carefully. We are meticulous about updating the information regularly.
If your skin is reactive, we also advise you to carry out a patch test by applying a small quantity of product in the hollow of your elbow, and waiting 24 - 48 hours to monitor any side effects.

Might I have an allergic reaction to the products?

Despite all the care we take in formulating our products, allergic reactions are possible. If this happens to you, please contact our customer service team, indicating the name of the product as well as the batch number, found on the bottom of the packaging. We will send you a cosmetovigilance form, to enable you to report the case to our laboratory team and proceed with an exchange or a refund where appropriate.

Environment

How can I recycle edulis packaging?

You can sort the cardboard boxes with your cardboard recycling. The serum bottle and the night cream jar can be sorted with glass, and the day cream and the night cream lids can be recycled with plastics.

Is the packaging eco-responsible?

The cardboard packaging comes from eco-managed forests.

Are your products tested on animals?

None of our products are tested on animals, in accordance with European Union law. All products are tested for quality, tolerance and effectiveness under dermatological control by an independent laboratory approved by the French Ministry of Health, before being put on the market.

As the DGCCRF (General Directorate for Competition, Consumption and Fraud Control in France) says, animal testing on cosmetic products is prohibited by European regulations, so the claim "not tested on animals" should not appear on products. For more information, you can consult this page.

What impact do your products have on oceans?

We are very aware of the importance of protecting the oceans and are working in this direction for our future formulations, to avoid the degradation of marine corals in particular.
The oysters we use are farmed in Cap Ferret, chosen for their nutritive qualities for the skin, with a preference for milky oysters.

Efficiency

When will I start to see the effects of your products?

Some people see results from the very first use and already find their skin softer, better hydrated and visibly healthier. If your skin shows signs of aging, blemishes or pigmentation spots, the results will not be immediate, but the condition of your skin should improve with each application. Follow your esthetician's advice carefully.
